SissWrap Knee also supports shoulder use. The aim is a comfortable local light application with the arm resting—not a tight brace and not a whole-neck-and-upper-back treatment. Start by identifying the shoulder region you want to cover and preparing a position that does not require a painful reach.

Confirm the device and the target

Choose it for a defined shoulder area. If you want coverage across the neck base, both traps and upper back at once, use the targeted-wrap versus shoulder-cape comparison before fitting the device.

The light-care rationale is different from a support brace: photobiomodulation delivers a light-based input rather than holding the shoulder joint in a training position. The shoulder evidence guide explains its role alongside active recovery.

Prepare the session with the device switched off

  1. Inspect the wrap. Check the light-facing surface and fastening for visible damage. Use the charging and cleaning directions supplied with your unit.
  2. Let the arm rest. Sit where you can reach the controls and support the arm comfortably. Get assistance if fitting the wrap requires an uncomfortable reach.
  3. Identify the light-facing side. Orient it toward the selected shoulder area; do not place the fastening or an outward-facing layer between the light surface and the intended contact area.
  4. Check the fit before switching on. The panel should stay in the intended position without painful compression, pulling the arm or forcing the neck to tilt.

Use the extension strap to secure the wrap at the selected shoulder area. Adjust the length with the arm resting, then check that the light-facing panel stays in position without pulling the arm or pressing on the neck. If reaching the fastening is uncomfortable, have someone help you fit it.

Session time: use the Knee guidance

The current Knee product FAQ lists 15–20 minutes per session, 3–4 times a week, depending on needs. This is the published consumer guidance for this model, not a clinical shoulder treatment protocol. Follow the instructions supplied with your unit if they specify a different operating limit, and resolve a discrepancy with support.

Start only after the position is comfortable. Use the touchscreen to choose the available settings and keep the power control accessible so you can stop the session. The current product page also identifies the power button as the screen-lock control. Automatic shut-off is a backup feature, not a reason to leave the device unattended or sleep in it.

Comfort checks during use

Stop and reposition if the wrap slides, pulls the arm or creates a concentrated pressure point. Stop the session for uncomfortable heat, skin irritation or symptoms spreading into the arm. Do not tighten further to compensate for a shape that does not sit well.

Visible red brightness is not a dose guide. The near-infrared component is not visible, so do not extend the session because you cannot see every wavelength or do not feel strong warmth.

After the session

Switch off, remove the wrap and inspect the skin. Clean and store it according to the supplied care instructions. A useful comparison is an ordinary comfortable task afterward—not repeatedly provoking the sorest arm angle.

If you are using the device during rehabilitation, keep the exercise progression separate from the session. After a surgical repair or an acute injury, agree the use with your treating team first.

For the best fit decision, confirm that local coverage is what you need. A correctly positioned, comfortable session is more useful than forcing the wrap to cover an entire shoulder girdle.
