Use SissWrap™ Knee as a seated, targeted light session: position the light-facing surface toward the knee area, secure a comfortable fit and use the model's recommended session guidance. The useful aim is consistent local light delivery, not the tightest possible fastening.

The current Knee product FAQ recommends 15–20 minutes per session, 3–4 times a week, depending on your needs. Keep the supplied instructions for your unit as the operating reference rather than borrowing settings from another wrap.

Before fitting the wrap

Choose a supported sitting position in which you can see and adjust the wrap. Check that the skin and device surface are clean and dry and that there is no damaged connector or material. Charge the rechargeable unit as directed before a cordless session.

If the knee problem is new and substantially swollen, injured or difficult to bear weight on, clarify that problem before starting a normal recovery routine. Post-surgical use has its own timing question in our knee-replacement guide.

Position for light, not compression

  1. Open the fastening. Orient the light-emitting surface toward the area you intend to cover.
  2. Wrap the knee comfortably. Use the flexible fastening to hold position without squeezing or forcing the joint into an uncomfortable angle.
  3. Check alignment. Make sure the light-facing section has not folded away or slipped to an unrelated area.
  4. Keep the controls accessible. You should be able to stop or adjust the session without awkwardly twisting the knee.

The wrap is a light-delivery format, not a structural knee brace. Wearing it tightly does not turn it into one. If a comfortable fit cannot keep the intended area covered, adjust position rather than continuing with a displaced wrap.

Start and finish a deliberate session

Use the unit's control instructions to start the light and follow the stated 15–20-minute session guidance. The product includes automatic shut-off; that feature does not make an indefinite or sleeping session the intended routine.

Stay in a comfortable resting position. Stop if the setup causes discomfort, skin irritation or a new symptom. When finished, switch off as directed, remove the wrap and inspect the area before storing it. Use the supplied care instructions for cleaning rather than immersing electrical components.

Keep the weekly pattern understandable

A practical approach is to attach the session to a stable part of your week, such as the wind-down after your usual activity. Follow the recommended frequency rather than treating a missed session as a reason to double exposure.

Change one setting or routine variable at a time when an adjustment is appropriate. Otherwise, you cannot tell whether a difference came from placement, the light session or a much harder training day.

Why this belongs alongside movement

Red and near-infrared light offer a non-pressure input; exercise develops the strength and control needed for daily tasks. The knee research guide explains pain and function outcomes in OA, while the downstairs guide and the squat guide address the activity itself.

If you are still choosing a device

A knee-focused wrap suits a localized target. A larger boot is a different coverage choice, not a requirement for better knee care. Use the knee-device buying guide before purchasing if you are comparing wraps, lasers and panels.
